about

God’s Got This was founded in 2011 as a way to communicate a long, hard leukemia journey with our family, friends, and community. The blog became a living, breathing journal documenting the highs and lows of a brutal fight with cancer. We shared dark vulnerable moments on uncomfortable cots in cold hospital rooms where hope seemed far away. We also shared unbelievable healing moments of remission granted by skilled doctors and a miracle working God.

Unfortunately, in the fall of 2015 the relentless leukemia ultimately took Dave’s life. Broken and hurting, we continued to lean into God, trusting He still had us close to his heart. The legacy of “God’s Got This” was sustained through wristband sales and blog posts.

In August of 2018, another major blow hit our family as Andrew unexpectedly died by suicide. Once again we were left broken and shattered, shocked and stunned. Two amazing men gone in less than three years. How could this be possible?

Although we do not understand why any of this has happened, we are still choosing to trust God. This world is a broken and hurting place, hungry for relief from pain. Our response is to spread a movement of hope to hurting people all around the world with the message that, “God’s Got This” and “You Are Not Alone.”

With Love,
