Six Months

Hey Friends, This Thursday, the 11th, I’m going in for my 6 month Bone Marrow Biopsy procedure and I wanted to ask you for some specific prayers. The procedure starts at 7:30 at Cedars-Sinai, and what they are doing is “drilling” for a look to see how my marrow is doing. This is a definitive test to see if there are any leukemia cells lurking around in there and to see if my marrow is still showing as 100 percent my donor.

My ask for prayers is simply this:

  1. That God would give me peace in my heart and soul through the procedure.
  2. Asking for God’s favor in my body once again and that we have good results.
  3. That God would use this time for His glory.

It’s crazy to think that it has been six months since my stem cell transplant. God has certainly shown Himself real and I am incredibly grateful. At this point, I’m still in recovery mode. Some days are good and some days are difficult with lots of pain in my joints. The doctors are still working to figure out exactly what is causing the pain and I need to be patient. I guess my body is still adjusting to having a brand new immune system. Prednisone is the medication that seems to help the most with the pain, but I hate the way it makes me feel so I’m trying to take the least amount possible. Each day is still uncertain as to how my body will feel and how much I will be able to do, but I’m alive– and nothing beats that!!!

I’ll let you know as soon as I have the results from my bone marrow biopsy test.

Thank you very much for your prayers. I still need them every day.

Dave
