Prayers in India

Yesterday morning as I was writing the update that included such difficult and sad news, I received an email from our wonderful friend in India, Pastor Joshua. He titled his email, “God’s Hand.” I could hardly believe how faithful God was in sending this encouragement in the very moment that I was trying to come up with the right words to share where we are in this journey. His faithfulness continues in the middle of our struggle.

Here is part of Pastor Joshua’s email:

To beloved sister Carol,

We are all praying for God’s continuous protection on Pastor Dave in this time. And also praying for you and for children for God’s Word to help you and heal you in this time of frustration and discouragement.

“I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me.” Psalms 118:13

God has given us tremendous promises for our inner being strength. In all the things which makes you fear, the Word only gives strength. Dear sister, we are not allowing God to rest regarding Pastor Dave day and night. I am able to see God’s hand upon Pastor Dave day and night. So please be calm and see God’s great works. Seek His face every minute. Many people praying for you and for Pastor Dave. Thank you so much for all your goodness.

Your brother in His service,
Joshua. P
God’s servant.

Wow. My favorite line: “We are not allowing God to rest regarding Pastor Dave day and night.” Thank you, Joshua! I will do my best to rest in God’s promises, to be calm, and to see God’s great works. And I will seek God’s face every minute of every day. He is our hope. He is the sustaining grace that carries us through the most difficult times. He is the answer to life’s struggles and pain.

I can’t tell you how much your prayers and encouragement are needed and appreciated. It really does make a difference. Thank you for assuring us of your love and prayers. Thank you for pointing us to God’s promises in the Bible for times like these.

Resting in God’s promises,

Carol
