We are happy to let you know that Dave is doing pretty good. Doctor’s appointment today confirmed no sign of leukemia. Thank you, God! It’s always such a relief to hear those words. We are doing our best to live one day at a time, enjoying each day as gift; and yet at the same time making plans to enjoy life together and in God’s service for a very long time! Tricky.
“We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Dave, however, is also dealing with side effects from the medications that he must take. Mostly fatigue and extreme muscle weakness. His blood counts are quite low (white cells, red cells, and platelets), which significantly affects the way he feels. Each day is a struggle to do everything he wants to accomplish.
We are asking that you pray for Dave to have renewed strength for this weekend. With it being Easter, his goal is to be able to deliver all four Easter service messages live and in person and with good energy. Please pray that God would give Dave the strength to be able to be with his church family this weekend and to teach from God’s Word about what true faith is. That would be a true gift.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29
