Fighting Through

This has been a week of fighting through. Fighting through infections, fevers, nausea, pain, discouragement, and extreme fatigue. But Dave is not alone in this fight! He has the strong hand of the Lord fighting with him, and he has an army of prayer warriors praying him through this fight. Thank you to all of you who are praying for him. God is listening.

As of today, Dave’s vital signs and blood numbers are all good. He needs to stay in the hospital a couple more days because of concerns with fluid in his lungs and some difficult stomach pain, but we anticipate those issues being resolved soon. Keep praying, please.

The battle today was with being able to film the weekend message here in his hospital room. The plan was to film this morning, but Dave woke feeling horrible and he was not even able to sit up. From how he was feeling, Carol and Andrew decided to cancel the filming because it just wasn’t going to be possible. We would need to come up with another plan for the weekend. Then about 1:30 this afternoon, this fighting man Dave woke up, found out that we had cancelled and said, “Are you kidding me? Of course I’m doing it.” Amazing! So, change of plans again! We called the filming crew, they quickly made it to the hospital, and with the help of our great God Dave was able to give a wonderful message. God will speak to people through that message. He certainly did to those of us who were in the room during the filming. We laughed and we cried; we were encouraged and we were challenged.

Bold prayers bring bold actions. People were praying bold prayers for Dave today.

Here’s a couple Bible verses that friends sent us today:

“The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:7

“You are my servant; I have chosen you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand. Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:10-13

The promise in these verses is that God will give strength and help. We saw that today and we rejoice!

Thank you for all your encouragement and your prayers,

The Stoeckleins
