Over the last eight months Dave has been the recipient of the gift of life, many times over, through the donations of blood, platelets, and even the amazing gift of stem cells. Often times gifts given from people we don’t personally know, and yet gifts that can make the difference of life or death.
Here is a message in a card that we recently received:
“Our family has been given a unique opportunity to assist a young 16-year-old girl, who too is facing life and death on a daily basis. Because of your openness with your struggles, our son was “matched” with this young lady and will be donating his bone marrow in the very near future. Had it not been for you, he would not have ever been tested, so for that we thank you.”
Can you imagine being the one who was matched with someone who needed your stem cells/bone marrow in order to live? Well, that could be you! It’s not that hard. It’s doesn’t cost you anything. And it doesn’t even really hurt.
We encourage you to come to the Blood Drive. Give blood. Get swabbed for stem cells/bone marrow to get on the national registry. Save a life!!
